FSW (Federal Skilled Worker Program)
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) immigration program is the largest of all economic immigration programs and is amongst the most popular programs for applicants who do not live in Canada. Applicants are assessed on their ability to contribute to the Canadian economy as a worker. Points are on offer based on factors such as age, work experience, education, and language skills. CEC (Canadian Experience Class)
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) immigration program is a popular option for applicants inside Canada, or for those that may have worked in Canada and gathered the required experience within a certain timeframe. Applicants who have successfully gained one year of full-time Canadian work experience in an eligible and qualifying occupation can submit an application under this program. Many applicants who do not qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker program chose first to come to Canada through a temporary immigration program, which will later afford them the opportunity to gain the experience required to qualify under the Canadian Experience Class. FST (Federal Skilled Trades Program)
The Federal Skilled Trades (FST) program is for candidates in select skilled trade occupations. Applicants need two years of experience in a qualifying trades occupation, as well as a valid job offer from a Canadian employer. PNP (Provincial Nominee Program)
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a popular option for applicants who may not immediately qualify through the FSW, CEC, FST programs. This is a popular option for applicants with an existing connection to the province in which they reside. Examples of this could be - through employment, education, or business. Applicants nominated by the province in which an application has been submitted to, will obtain a nomination, which in turn then allows the applicant to immigrate through the federal Express Entry immigration route.
